Wes Perry joined the team as Controller in January 2008.   Prior to joining Murex Properties, Wes spent the last 5 years as the Director of Finance and Accounting for National Development of America, LLC (NDA).   NDA is a real estate development company specializing in multi and single family affordable housing.   Wes’s duties included helping secure financing through various state and federal affordable housing and tax credit programs.  His responsibilities included oversight of all accounting and reporting on numerous developments.    Previous to NDA, Wes spent over 10 years as Controller, then CFO, of South Seas Resort.    South Seas Resort is a 330 acre, 700 unit premier condominium/hotel resort on Captiva Island near Southwest Florida.     South Seas employed over 700 full and part time staff.   All accounting was done on-site and Wes managed an accounting, purchasing and IT staff of over 30 employees.   South Seas owned and operated numerous food & beverage outlets, retail outlets, golf course, full service marina and a real estate sales operation.   Total revenues from these operations were in excess of $60 million.   In addition to overseeing the resort accounting, IT and purchasing, Wes was part of an acquisition team that was successful in acquiring several other resort properties.    South Seas was recently sold to Interstate Hotels and then to LXR, a division of the Blackstone Group.
 
After becoming a licensed CPA, Wes spent 3 years as a staff accountant/ accounting manager with Coopers & Lybrand.  His areas of focus were Real Estate, Banking and Health Care.
 
Wes has an associate’s degree from Florida State University and a BSBA in Accounting from University of Central Florida. Wes has served on various non-profit boards including the Children’s Hospital of SW Florida and the Uncommon Friends Foundation.
